“You attempt to trick me! You made no mention of another task! I would not even be in these woods if not for your muddled plot! Give me what is due me, and allow me to depart before I am discovered here! They have been searching this sector of the forest for the entire day…”
The other man was shaking his head, “You shall receive nothing from me until this task is completely settled. I desire the name of an assassin. One who is able to do what I wish quickly and, more importantly, one who knows the value of a still tongue. After he has contacted me and I am certain of his trustworthiness, only then shall you receive any payment. When you have genuinely earned it! For had you followed my orders, there would be no trouble to run away from!”
“There would be no trouble if it were not for your own!” Dheriq retorted hotly “I must leave Nubia! Without delay!”
“In that case friend,” The man told him coldly. “You had best pray that the name you provide bears out.” Dheriq glared at him with open hatred, realizing that the alternative was to remain stranded without gold for travel. He quickly considered candidates for this cretin who stood before him, then rapidly outlined how one could be contacted, and how much gold it would likely cost. Then he warned angrily,
“If you have not returned in two day’s time, I shall go. With or without your gold!”
“You shall remain and wait.” The man sneered “What, if not your greed, holds you here now?”
With another chuckle to himself, he turned and walked away.

First off I must say this book isn't something that I normally read. However I am finding it an excellent read, has some comedy to it that I find quite entertaining. I currently am only at chapter 3. With that I am already hooked. I can't wait to finish this one and look forward to the next book to come along. Well done to LP Johnson for an excellent job!

"The author makes the characters come to life in such a way that you feel you are there with them. At times I loved the characters, at times I found myself angry with them. At times I stormed off thinking how could they? Only to be taunted to read on. Not only does the author LP Johnson make the story come to life in a wonderful and enjoyable way, she adds more to it by making us question our own personal relationships with others that brings thought provoking questions and answers in our own lives.
