It is a play of Sad Romance, a form of art in which Contemporary Romanticism, often combined with heroism, arises from tragedy.
This stage play is a tragic drama of three acts in eleven scenes,
set in an Empire, which is intended to be the metaphors of modern
social relations involving people and power, and a love story.
One of the focuses of the play is: even though heroes sandwiched
between the heaven and earth are restricted in and for their
performances, like most pioneers whenever and wherever in the
universe, are buried before they can fully progress; history
has never stopped making success.
But is it true? This play is trying to answer it through a love
story of the people at the bottom, and a power struggle at the top.

GIRL A
They say you do not belong to the sun and not allow you to see
the daybreak. Come, my quiet night, come, my vast sunless
sky. Take the Captain with you and hide him within your tender
bosom. Then sunder him into numberless little stars to cast
them across the whole sky, and engrave them over there so they
will never fall. That will make you so beautiful, shining with
dreams and hopes, sharing your peaceful lights, lightening the
roads beneath, that all people who are expelled by the Sun will
fall in love with you but not the blazing day.
AUNTY A
Young man, there were never blossoms along the road you
have walked, and the flower of your life is withered even
before it can bloom. Let me see you off with some flowers and
they will accompany you forever.
(tears paper into many small pieces and throws them into the air)
Cast your light,
On day, on night,
Forever bright!
(many stars suddenly shine in the night sky)
GIRL A
My graceful night, are those diamonds the wedding rings you
are offering to all lovers in the world? If so I will pick up the
one for the Captain. My love, your life is double shortened as
you have borne double sufferings and punishments, is thus
your star double brightened? Your sparkling lights drive away
the bleakness in my heart, my world is no more dark and
lonely. I know each flashing is not an echo of my tears but
rather a word in your poems. I will reach out to rhyme them
into lines so every night I read a new poem of yours. My
Captain, to me you are the whole world!
AUNTY A
GIRL A
Farewell, our Captain, our love. Each time we see the night sky
with stars, we see you. You are always shining over there.
(curtain falls )
