Cannon Strikes Again with
"Manner-Man" is another exceptional book by Sherrill S. Cannon. My family enjoys reading Cannon's lovely and well written rhyming verse books; they are a fun way to teach children to use good manners and be on their best behavior! Cannon's characteristic rhyming verse not only teaches valuable life lessons, but the verse makes reading enjoyable for early readers or even for adults reading to children.
The beautiful illustrations perfectly complement the story, and my daughters loved picking out characters such as Elisabeth and Jimmy from Cannon's previous books and seeing how those characters have changed after improving their behavior. The Manner-Man character adds a new element to Cannon's already charming books. Manner-Man serves as a role model for children who try to do the right thing and also for children who need a little help with their manners.

"…Manner-Man takes on problem solving and dealing with bullies. He is the first hero in any of her books, not including the kids who take advice on the chin and change for the better by book’s end. A Superhero for Children
I absolutely loved Sherrill Cannon's new book `Manner Man.' It deals perfectly with those things that are so hard for children especially in our society today to understand. As a child is growing and learning the best ways of finding and keeping friends it is so beneficial to learn how much more fun it is when you share.
In Ms. Cannon's new book Manner-Man, children are taught not only the gift of joy they receive from sharing, but how to help their friends gain this gift. So precious is it that seldom is sharing recognized as a gift. A gift to both the one you are sharing with and yourself.
To take on this difficult lesson in such a fun and playful manner is truly a skill that Ms. Cannon has learned. She understands children and how to teach them new skills.
