Overall, I enjoyed this collection of stories but it doesn't have an interactive table of contents. I was happy to see good things happen Christie in "A Christmas Miracle." Confined to a wheelchair following an accident, she thought her chance for love was gone. I loved Marcus from the very beginning because he didn't see the wheelchair as limiting and he encouraged Christie to stop setting limits herself.
In "The Light of Christmas," Holli is chosen to decorate some downtown windows for the holidays. Viewing those windows is a tradition for many families. It poses a special challenge for Holli since she hates Christmas. Joel was a sweet hero, dousing her in mud but determined to make up for it."Love's Christmas Gift" brings us a slightly older heroine and a home where everyone is healing. Good dialogue as friends think about become more. The next story, "Christas Stockings," was probably my favorite. It was a twist on the Cyrano story as Holly Chamberlain writes love letters for others. But the tables are turned when she finally receives one, well, five of them. Cute story. The last story, "Flamingo Blues," was my least favorite. The author writes well, I just thought that Corny's ability to understand the flamingos was corny. It bothered me everyting the flamingos "talked" because their thoughts were too well developed. I like Corny and her boyfriend, Steve, but I did think it was funny that she was able to help the flamingos without being caught. So they are all short stories, as are all the "Books to Go" books. But I enjoyed them and will keep this book around to read again next Christmas.
It was okay
This anthology was okay. I was glad it was free. It was just a light holiday read but each story just needed a little more "something" for me!
