Solid, Challenging, and Biblical
I plan to reread this one and to pass it on. It encapsulates in a small space so much truth about God and about healing that it's a handy resource to share with others who are still struggling with "God wants me to be sick" (BLECH).

Lots of Scriptural citations and engaging personal examples. I read very quickly, as a rule, but this one took me longer because there was SO MUCH depth. I could not rush through it, which is a good thing in this case. I need to keep reminding myself of God's goodness...He's not angry and he does want his kingdom to be operational here.

I appreciate this book and I believe you will too. It might tick you off first, though, depending on your background. That's okay. Cognitive dissonance is uncomfortable but it can help move you into more truth.

Very Encouraging!
This is a very encouraging book. So many of us have formed opinions about God and healing based on things we've heard, not on God's Word. Steve does a good job of describing these opinions (lies)and then showing the truth from Scripture. I particularly enjoyed the stories Steve recounted. These are not stories and ideas from someone who has little experience. Steve lives as a missionary in Peru and is focused on sharing God's love with others. You can tell that he has a humble and compassionate heart...and wants to see people set free (I discovered Steve's blog online several months ago and I have been really blessed and challenged by his writings.)

This book isn't just about dismantling lies about healing; it's about knowing God's goodness and allowing Him to show us where we have believed lies, so He can graciously teach us the truth.

I believe this book will help equip a lot of Christians to walk in God's fullness with regard to divine health and healing!

Great book, and very challenging!
I thought this book was very well written. It's written in a conversational way that is easy to understand for even the newest Christians. Steve ensures that he backs up his points with research and Scripture. I was raised in believing in God's desire to heal us, and have found myself falling for the lies he has addressed. I found it incredibly challenging when I read it, and I still find it challenging as I continue to ponder the points he made. This book is great for any Christian (or non Christian), who is willing to confront the reasons they do or do not believe God heals. Steve does this in a way that, while at times is confrontational, it's done with so much grace and love that you will find yourself being challenged rather than offended.
