When you travel to Mount Rushmore you will see the heads of four of our most
famous presidents carved into the granite rocks of the Black Hills of South Dakota. They are from left to right: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Today more than 3 million people visit Mount Rushmore each year.

I highly recommend "Little Miss Liberty Travels to Mount Rushmore" to any parent, teacher, or librarian. Young readers are introduced to “History” a young girl who is the narrator and travel guide of the story. The information is presented in a fun and informative format, as “History” takes the reader on a tour of Mount Rushmore, sharing interesting facts that will delight and interest children, as well as their parents. The illustrations are a great compliment to the information and highlight the massive size, structure, and detail of this great monument. Barbara Mojika has created the first in what appears to be slated as a series that will educate, entertain, and intrigue youngsters while, encouraging them to reflect on the Native American’s association with this grand structure. The story ends with “History” announcing that the next stop will be the Statue of Liberty. As a teacher, I look forward to the sequel. I always search for books that not only educate, but broaden a child’s respect and interest in our nation’s history.

What a delightful book. The illustrations are great and children will love them. It is `History' who tells the story and discusses 150 years of American History. This particular book is about Mount Rushmore and Chief Crazy Horse. It raises questions about who that geographical area belongs too and whether everyone should celebrate that piece of history together. If you want your children to take an interest in history, or Mount Rushmore, this is the one. Loved it!
New way to teach history in a fun and factual, informative way that anyone can learn, January 16, 2013
I have to be honest and say that history was never one of my favorite subjects in school but through little miss history and the incredible illustrations, I actually was interested in wanting to know more. If history books were all done this way with cool illustrations and fun ways of telling a story, using actual facts as told in the book then my love of history would have increased a million times over. I think this book is truly very unique and one of its kind that can help parents and teachers teach kids how to appreciate our great country by sharing facts and cool illustrations that bring the story to life. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to teach their kids about history or well known monuments as in this case Mount Rushmore! I can't wait to see where Little Miss History takes us next ....
