We don’t take these comments for oracles or the final words in terms of thinking. The readers would rather do well not to forget that the ideas in this book belong to the author’s literary works and draw their full meaning from situations taking place in the contexts of these works. However, Alex and I admit that reading my books will certainly take the readers to the endless conflicts between good and evil, while we wish the triumph of the former over the latter. The author colorfully justifies his preference as follows: the force of evil seems so organized, structured, it can do well without one more advocate. Again, according to the author, we will show wisdom if we practice the good for its own sake. Moreover, like a foretaste, we believe that the pertinent ideas, drawing their inspiration from the author’s books, may enormously excite the mind. We have arranged them in literary and philosophical analyses forms, while, Alex has used his stentorian voice to propose them as “food for thought” to the auditors of Radio Omega, 96.3 FM SCA, on Sunday afternoon. In the heat of his presentations, he has added his own comments and examples, with a view to strengthening their realism and accessibility. We have guessed right; for, many have responded favorably to these comments and analyses. As the old saying recommends, « get it writing » if you mean to save your thoughts forever. Then, we feel happy to confine in a book format these more or less stimulating ideas, in which, we hope, the readers will take delight. Indeed, they will make the readers reappraise existential matters, as they have retained the Haitian Club du Livre members and their President’s attention. They will remind the readers that the brain hasn’t always shown innocence and meekness as a lamb. It may lead us from one disaster to another, if we don’t pay it any mind. They will advise the readers on the way to avoid suicide, a deadly action cutting down so many of our brothers and sisters’ lives. The readers, lovers of Haiti, will take interest in the philosophical meaning of the Haitian drama, which, by the way, hasn’t occurred by accident. They will enjoy being reminded of the possibility of acting under the influence of various types of loves, which have the power to captivate the mind and lead it to positive undertakings. One subject that will probably retain the readers’ attention will derive from the recall that reason often receives a cool reception from us, at a time of great decision. We also submit remarks to the readers’ attention reflections on existential conditions, mysterious reasons for trusting our bodies, the drawbacks of modern education, the meaning of life, the miracle of the Haitian flag. Since we don’t aim at any indoctrination, we have arranged the analyses at random. Nevertheless, to facilitate their reading, we have added a table of contents and an index. We hope that you will like such project and will appreciate for what it is worth.
