Do you overspend? It's a common affliction. Learn how to identify and control this problem.

A new book by best-selling author Ben Carlsen tackles the highly personal, financially and emotionally destructive issue of OVERSPENDING. Overspending is a huge problem in America. Everyone seems to do it occasionally, while some regularly indulge. This book examines the problem from several perspectives (medical, psychological, attitudinal, cultural). Examples from the author's own experience and from notorious excessive spenders are included. The book provides solutions to the problem and encourages the reader, without judgment or blame, to Confront, Confess, and Change.

Excerpt

There’s a litany of reasons why we overspend. Most of these reasons have to do with our Ego, self-image, need for love and acceptance, misplaced values, and desire to impress. We “self-medicate” to temporarily erase feelings of inferiority, depression, worthlessness, rejection or inadequacy. Our drug of choice is often shopping. I’m sure you’ve seen the bumper-sticker on cars parked at the mall: “When the going gets tough. The tough go shopping!”
