“And God said, let us make Man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth. So God created Man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:26-27).
From the beginning of time, God loved us (Jeremiah 31:3). When God created Man and breathed life into him, Man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).
Before Adam and Eve sinned, they lived in close fellowship with God. Imagine: all the animals were tamed; there was no sickness, no disease, no thorns, no weeds, not anything associated with sin.
In the Garden of Eden, God provided a variety of trees from which Adam and Eve could eat freely, all except one – the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The Tree of Life was also in the midst of the garden (Genesis 2:9).
When God created Man in His likeness – with a spirit and a soul – He gave Man a free will. Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary gives a list of synonyms for free will. One of those is “voluntary,” which is defined as “proceeding from the will or from one’s own choice or consent; having power of free choice.”2
This free choice is given to everyone. Every day we make decisions and make choices. Some are simpler, such as what outfit to wear today or what food to eat. Others, such as choosing a mate or how to care for our children, are more serious.
The most important decision all of us must make is in response to the question, “Where will I spend Eternity?”

Heaven or Hell is a simple yet scriptural read that gives very practical and biblically sound insight into some of the basic principals of Christianity.
More than that, the book explains a lot about our relationship with God
and why we believe what we do. It is very thorough in explaining the
“choices” we have (as the author hints in the subtitle) and provides a very
refreshing and down to earth perspective on some of the realities that we face daily. If you’re looking for religious explanations and deep theological jargon, you might be a little disappointed. However, if you’re looking for a simple understanding of the things of God and why it should matter to all of us... this book is a must read! I love how the author breaks down the topics into easily digestible morsels of sound wisdom (check out the “A B C’s of Salvation”!) The author also poses some very thought provoking
questions and scenarios that both non-believers and believers can relate
to.
Heaven or Hell is also a great tool for those of us in ministry who
are often presented with questions about our faith and our awesome God.
Almost like a mini course in Apologetics, this book provides some very real and practical responses to a world that continues to challenge God’s very existence.
