This city has really gone down hill." Officer Pete Jones said
as he strolled down Cherry Street with his partner, Adam Simmons.
"Yeah." Adam said, looking around at the nearly deserted
street. "But at least there's not much crime nowadays."
Cherry Street, like a majority of the rest of the small, rural
town of Witherton, Ohio, had quieted down since the election of the new mayor, just over a year and a half ago. Before the historic election of Sammy Reynolds, the world's first twelve year old mayor, Witherton was a violent, dangerous town.
Everyone laughed when the local newspaper printed the
groundbreaking news that Sammy Reynolds was running for Mayor. A lot of people even questioned the legality of it, but in the end, it was found surprisingly legal, though highly irregular.
