The Author’s OBE. What I remember is rather fuzzy in parts, but there are some feelings that I can’t shake. I was in surgery for the replacement of my Aortic heart-valve. I was under anesthesia. While on the operating table, I found myself floating above the table looking down at my body and the surgeons working on me. I felt very peaceful. It was a wonderful feeling. There was much whiteness around me. I realized that I was looking down on my own body and that I would return to that body and experience pain. I didn’t want to return, but somehow knew that I would. As I descended downward I saw clearly the surgeons working on my heart. As soon as I was back on the operating table, a shadow, like a mist, appeared and it moved toward me. I felt a hand on my shoulder and then a voice said, “Don’t worry Abe you’re going to make it.” It was the voice of my departed brother-in-law who passed away not too long previously subsequent to a back operation where there were complications with internal bleeding and pneumonia resulting in his death while in the hospital.
