The true meaning of Christmas is 'giving'. This doesn't necessarily mean the giving of 'physical' gifts to others; it can also mean the giving of 'spiritual' gifts as well. For, each and everyone of us, no matter who we are or where we come from, have been given the gift of being able to bring joy and peace to the hearts of others; and by doing so, we bring joy and happiness to the heart of God as well as to ourselves.
God wants all of us to give of ourselves to others, as he gives onto us. He created us to be like him – to give willingly and freely unto others, things that are of both physical and spiritual natures for their benefit and blessing.
Unfortunately, many of us are so self-absorbed and greedy, that we are unable to see the countless gifts that God has already blessed our lives with. And, as God has blessed us, we too should bless others every chance we get.
We all seek to have a purpose in life. We all hope that if our life on earth were to end tomorrow, that we would leave behind us a legacy of some kind. Yet, for many of us, this becomes the end to which we live – for we are never completely satisfied, we are always wanting more and more of one thing or another instead of being content with all that God has given us at any given time in our lives.
