Pacific Passage by P.S. Winn is a heartwarming adventure drama focusing on events in the life of Brianne Jones, about to experience a life changing event in losing her job and winning a ten-day South Pacific Cruise. Her friends Hannah and Megan are delighted to accompany her, but the trip of a lifetime becomes a horrific catastrophe as the Pacificus becomes lost at sea and the survivors marooned on an uncharted island. Though the novel pays tribute to a number of castaway tales, the author’s focus on the interrelationships makes this as much a tale of overcoming diversity and bonding for the common good. The suicide of one of the survivors becomes an epiphany as they realize how precious the lives of one and all has truly become. This is another P.S. Winn novel to add to every cozy collection.
