Truth is Scarier Than Fiction
Ms. Smith's book is well-written, interesting...and scary. It's a good lesson in things going terribly wrong, wrong place, wrong time, wrong people. I grew up in the Dallas area. It was a little surreal to read about these same places I knew of as a teen, and mostly places I knew to stay far away from. This book is a must-read. And it will stay with you long after you've put it down.

When I started reading ONE WRONG MOVE...CAN KILL by Elaine Fields Smith I really wasn't expecting much because I knew it had drugs involved and for some reason that kind of turned me off to it. ( I don't know why, most crimes these days do seem to have drugs involved.) But then I started reading, and the more I read the more I needed to know, and the more I found out the further I needed to go. So I found myself reading into early morning hours.
I was also a little put off by it saying BASED on a true crime, instead of being a true crime book. But once I started reading and found out the details, I was very impressed with this crime book. It is captivating, it will keep you wanting to find out more and more with every page. It does tell the story of a true crime and the crimes committed in this book are horrific.
I highly recommend this book. Thank you Elaine Fields Smith, not only for writing it, but for your willingness to answer any questions I had about the crime as I read. In my opinion you get an A+. Great job !!!

This Hit Too Close to Home!
A great read! A story of how teenage mischief can snowball into tragic endings. I, too, grew up in Dallas and now live close to Lake Texoma where the events in this book took place. It is frightening to know these things happen so close to home.
Will there be a sequel????
