There are fascinating quotes from famous people and descriptions of how animals behave. Readers can read the volume in a straight line beginning with page one and continuing seriatim or they can look at the table of contents and pick the subject or animal that interests them and read that essay.
The book teaches us to pay attention to nature, which can teach us much if we pay attention. A Good Book On How Nature Operates
Elvis has written a good book on the vagaries of nature.
For instance, he gives an example of how the kayakh
receives help from the golden eagle to survive in the
Alta Mountains of Mongolia.
Another example of nature in action can be seen in how
the buffalo charges toward a storm to reduce suffering.
In actuality, the great wind when opposed by a charging
buffalo (in the opposite direction ) produces a net vector
which is smaller. The author urges each of us to choose
an occupation or undertaking which is compatible with
our overall personality; otherwise, there will be goal
incongruencies/divergences to deal with in individual cases.
One of the most interesting applications in the development
of modern medicine is biomimicry which emulates nature's
time tested patterns. i.e. energy, food production, climate
control and non-toxic chemicals Elvis has some important
discussions here too.
Overall, the book has interesting perspectives for people who
are contemplating the inner workings of nature for the first time.
