Fans of rock 'n' roll history will enjoy this biography of Hal Neely, who started his career touring the Midwest during the Depression in Big Bands and became a driving force in the music scenes of Cincinnati and Nashville. By the end of his life he was obsessed with the publication of his memoirs which would tell the truth about James Brown. Neely's memoirs and the author's research do not match. Both are laid out so readers can make up their own minds.
This book has been eight years in the making. It is mostly a jumble of thoughts written down in old spiral notebooks and hidden in the bottom drawer underneath various manuals for software packages and hardware long since turned obsolete.
The experience of a young adult trying to figure out what they want to do for employment or education can be overwhelming. My book will give them insight to what it means to be a carpenter. And the progress unions have made in discrimination.
