Two stories about Two boys going through some scary times.

A Gold Frame Book Collection.
Here are a couple short stories I wrote many years ago. After some updating, I believe they are ready now to be enjoyed by science fiction/fantasy readers who are looking for a simple good time of reading.

THE HOLE

It was the year 1979 or was it? Poor Brian didn’t know anymore because he had fallen into a hole in the ground and came up into a world he didn’t know. The sky was a weird color gray and all the trees had been uprooted and planted again in straight rows! And now he’s found out the grass and weeds are plastic. What is going on?

See how Brian finds out what has happened and how he tries to get back home to his own time. And how he gets away from the kindly people who want to keep him for examination. This is a not so short story for those who like weird stuff at nearly every turn. Read and enjoy.

THE BULL

Tim was told by his grandfather not to go into the cow pasture. There is a bull in there named Hades who doesn’t like strangers in his domain. But Tim has lost his frisbee to the wind and, as luck would have it, it went into that pasture over by the trees. He can see it over there, lying white on the grass, but where is Hades? The cows are way over there on the hill. Maybe Hades is over there, too. If he is, then getting his frisbee back should be no problem. After all, it’s just a short jog over to the trees and back. So should he try it?

Follow along to see how Tim fares with getting his frisbee back. It may be a sojourn he won’t forget for a long time.

Excerpt

If anyone was to tell me this story, I certainly would not believe them, but since it happened to me, I have to believe it. Unless, as most people have told me, I was dreaming but I don’t think so. I’ll tell you the story and you see what you think.
When I was a young man, thirteen years old, my Grandpa Brooks had a cattle farm outside of Canton, Ohio, with large fields, lots of trees and hills all around. He was my dad’s dad and we used to go and visit him and Grandma every so often and he would take me around the farm with him. But I loved to go off and wander around by myself sometimes because it was so nice and quiet. No city noise. Anyway, while I was out wandering that one day, I found a hole in the ground. It wasn’t a real big hole, not a small one either, but just enough to fit a body into. It was well hidden by brush and grass else I would have found it earlier because I had come to know that particular field very well. It was one hill that had so many trees and came down into a valley. I had run down that hill into that valley many times, but it wasn’t until that day that I found the hole. As I said, it was pretty well hidden by the vegetation or I would have found it earlier.
