Peripheroids are the invisible friends two and under have that when parents ask to meet them are always "in another room." After age two most people forget these invisible friends and what they talked about.
But the military doesn't forget. Through extensive interviews they have found out what the peripheroids are talking about:world peace.
World peace, as you might expect, would render the military and the vast industrial complex that supports it obsolete and unnecessary.
Desperate to prevent this the military blames peripheroids for the alarming increase in autism.
In the worst of autism individuals are locked "in another room" in their minds and can't reach, or be reached, by their families.
Blaming is not enough. They have to find peripheroids, but two year olds are no help.
Only two humans are suspecteed of talking to peripheroids after early childhood and they are considered so dangerous they have been under surveillance their entire lives.
