A Loss of Youth is a supernatural detective thriller. It will take you to frightening world beyond the shadows.

Joe (Spider) Bannion is a man who is hauunted by his past. A man caught in  a twilight world between the living and a world beyond. A man who has submerged himself in the evil streets for so long the darkness has seeped into his very soul. Everything he has touched has turned to dust and the people who loved him have paid the ultimate price. His actions have condemed him to a loney life on the edges of society.

From a promissing career as a detective in Dublin to a lowly P.I. in London he has reached the bottom of a slippery slope. He allows no one to get close to him except his ex wife and ex partner. Then again he has little choice in this as they are ghosts from his past that come and go as they please.

But if Joe thought he had reached rock bottom he was badly mistaken. Because something deep inside him draws him to evil like a moth to a flame. Just when he thinks that he even for thelikes of him a new begining is possible. He finds himself once again on intamite terms with death and evil.

Excerpt

Dublin late 1990's
"Shut the fuck up Paul" the thought screamed in Joe Bannions head as he stared out the windshield at the red traffic light. He tapped his fingers irritably on the dashboard and willed the lights to go green. If there was one thing Joe hated worse than rush hour traffic in Dublin. Was someone telling him what way he should live his life. Especially if that someone was a friend and that someone was telling the truth.
Joe was ultimately aware that he was turning his life into a train wreck. His long suffering wife had become resigned to the fact that they would not have the life she had wished for at the start. He himself had long ago resigned himself to the fact that he was a damaged individual.
He had to admit that without the love of Marion and the unbending friendship of Paul, that he would have nothing. Now as they sat in the unmarked detective car, Paul's genuine concern for his well being was killing him. The standard lecture always started out with "How is Marion keeping these days". When he heard these words he would feel his stomach cramping and the muscles in the back of his neck would tense.
