Do you know what it's like to have someone close to you get so sick, that all you can do is pray for them; pleading to God to show mercy?
A little over a year ago, my beautiful, sunshine-faced, six-year-old niece, Faith, had an unusual fever, and after being taken to Burlington, was diagnosed with Leukemia: basically blood cancer!
I was dumb-founded. How could this be? I had just taught her how to fly a kite, and she was running all over the large yard out behind my house, giggling, and laughing- triumphantly gleeful over being able to get her kite high into the bright blue sky above. Now she lay suffering in a hospital bed, while they tried to plan what to do next.
In life, we all go through seasons. Seasons of struggle, of hope, of anticipation and longing. In this, my fourth book of poem-stories, inspired by this little girl who refuses to give up, I share a few of the poems I have written in my heart during these trying times, with the hope that others may be inspired. On the cover, you see her running, undaunted by the contrary wind, refusing to be satisfied until she sees that kite flying!

One of the most compelling aspects of Seasons is its symbolic use of the changing seasons.
