It was then I realized this twin pregnancy thing is a “whole new ball game”. It's nothing like carrying one baby. My single pregnancy carried less risk for preterm labor, less weight to carry on my small frame and the least amount of complications. Having twins almost killed me. I found out early on how difficult, scary and challenging the next nine months of my life would be. Severe morning sickness that threatened my babies lives, a few hospital scares and a preterm labor admittance. By the 38 week mark, my stomach was crushed. I couldn't eat, walk or barely breathe. I was exhausted and depleted. As I impatiently waited for my C-section date. Only to later need a blood transfusion for losing too much blood during delivery. Through all that I endured, I ended up with two healthy baby boys. Some moms don't even leave the hospital with one. I was blessed. And at the same time, I got to understand a whole new world; the world of a twin mommy. Carrying twins had gave me a whole new look on motherhood. What it took to nurture two lives at the same time. Raising them as individuals yet as a team of two. I felt like I became a first time mom all over again.
