Concise and informative
Family Friendly Amsterdam is a short but jam packed travel guide to Amsterdam. Although it has been written to cater towards touring with a family it's also very useful for anyone whether a couple or even a lone tourist.

It covers all kinds of aspects that would be useful from where to find the best supermarkets and pharmacy's can be found. Accommodation is looked at, such as where is the best value for money if planning with a limited budget in mind. The author moved to Amsterdam from the USA, so knows her way around the city giving you firsthand knowledge and experienced information but also from a travellers perspective too.

The guide isn't just written information like some guides can be this one includes some very beautiful photos from around Amsterdam giving you an idea of what to expect if you've never been before. There's also links, phone numbers, business operating hours and a rough guide to the cost of some thing's giving you examples to work out when working out the budget and how much spending money needs to be taken with you.

The last time I visited Amsterdam I was a child but reading this has made me want to return and experience it with fresh eyes. Definitely worth reading this if planning on taking a trip now or in the near future.

I really liked reading over the things to do while in Amsterdam
I really liked reading over the things to do while in Amsterdam. While we were there for two weeks, we did not get to see everything. This gives me a good idea of what I can do next time I visit. I also enjoy the useful phrases, while I know many speak English, it's nice to be able to communicate in Dutch if possible.

A concise guide to Amsterdam travel
There are many more expensive travel guides to Amsterdam available, stuffed with filler and information that most family travelers will never use. The “Family Friendly Amsterdam” guidebook is by far the best one I’v had the pleasure of using for planning a trip to the lovely city in the near future. I am new to European travel, so I need to know some of the very basics such as where the best supermarkets and pharmacies are located, as well as the best lodging for families who are budget conscious. The information was complied by American expat Gessell Wolitski, who now lives in Amsterdam, so her perspective is one of an American traveler who happens to know her way around, rather than one who is native to the city. This short guide also features some terrific photos from all around the city, as well as links and phone numbers, business hours, whether reservations are necessary, and even what to expect price wise. I browsed a number of other city travel guides, but I am happy I decided to download this one. Excellent for anyone who is traveling to Amsterdam with family, as a couple, or even as a lone adventure.
