Fun, Clever Story
When Danny, a dairy farmer in Wisconsin, goes to hand his sister a bottle of water so she'll stay hydrated on a movie set because she's a nursing mother, he's picked to fill in for the recently fired leading man. Shelly has the job of transforming Danny into a heartthrob in five days though his only previous acting experience was in a high school play. However, he's willing to do all he can to help make the movie a success--first of all for his sister who has a small part in it but also because he would like the extra cash to start a fish farm. Danny is completely lovable, but Shelly is stressed out trying to prove herself so she can start her own publicity firm. But then her nemesis appears and Shelly is afraid she'll lose everything--including Danny.
Most of the story occurs on the movie set and it's interesting to read about what goes on behind the scenes. Highly recommended!
Great Story! Great Writing! Guaranteed to Satisfy
‘Everything About You’ is the first Lisa Lickel book I’ve read, but it sure won’t be the last. Ms. Lickel doesn’t miss a beat as she weaves a fast paced love/hate story with a cast of well-developed flamboyant characters guaranteed to more than satisfy the reading genie that abides within all of us.
I could see that hunk-a-handsome Danny, alias Winston. And heaven forbid, Lydia and that creep, Tommy Lord. Yikes. But Shelly was my favorite—brash, talented, single-minded and beautiful. Loved the ending, just wished it could have gone on for many more chapters. Great story! Great writing!
