This book is a step-by-step guide for authors to start the marketing process.

There are thousands of books out there telling authors what to do. How to market their book. What they should be doing to successfully land on a best seller's list. They all over promise and under deliver. A Blonde’s Guide to Be a Better Marketer: For Authors Only is a candid book that takes a look at all of the options available for authors and breaks them down in, as I like to call them, “blonde terms.” This book in no way guarantees every author will be on a best seller's list or that they will all make a fortune. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. What this book does guarantee is showing authors the importance of why actively doing something is better than passively doing nothing. This knowledge helps authors increase their targeted marketing and additionally increase book sales.

Excerpt

Disclaimer: Some elements of marketing are complex. I will try my best to break these elements down in easy ways for every beginner marketer to understand, in what I like to call blonde terms. This is not a stab at blondes. I am a blonde. I just do not like the term dumb things down because people reading this book are not dumb. When people do not know about something; it seems foreign to them. Even if the subject is simple, if insider jargon is used constantly, the subject becomes obscure. So, I will try my best to include a blonde definition when things get a bit technical. This way marketing novices do not get overwhelmed and can get the most out of this book. After reading this, every beginner marketer will have enough understanding of marketing to start building their brand and creating more connections with their audience.

Professional Reviews

This Guide will keep you busy
I have read at least 10 books on the subject, all claiming some kind of clairvoyance which stops right after my purchase. This guide breaks book marketing down to where it stands today without a lot of fluff and is full of resources that can be used along with long-term planning. Worth every penny for just the lists.

She is not your average dumb blonde.
This is a great book for authors who are starting out. The step-by-step instructions are very helpful. The toolbox in the back of the book alone is worth buy thing book even if you are an experienced marketer.

Great Info for First Time Author's needing to market their own on Social Media!
This book isnt just for how to market a book you wrote--even though the idea of the book is: you wrote your book, now how to markekt it--it applies to anyone looking to market their product using social media. Easy to read (who has time? Easy is good). To the point and a generous list of resources the author, Ashli Avalon, uses herself! Everything in this book is used and tested by the author as well. She takes you through the whole process. It's not as scary as you would think from her point of view. I would suggest this book for someone that just wrote their book and need to get it out there but not a lot of budget to pay someone to do something they could do themselves. Two thumbs up!
