Chapter Title: "Pearl's Cat"
Through a trusting nature, or maybe naivete, Aunt Pearl left the doors and windows in her house unlocked. One day a black cat of considerable size jumped through an open window. The creature took a look around and plopped down on the carpet as if he found likeable what he saw and thought he would not rush off. Pearl set out a dish of milk; he drank it in a flash, hopped up on a chair and stretched out for a nap.
