Tom and Nina find themselves in a life threatening situation. Injured and lost in a hostile environment, they battle the elements and their own doubts and fearsand make a bid to get back to safety.
Tom needed time away from home to
think - what he got was the biggest scare of his life. Tom's life was in crisis. Anxious to escape from the domineering and oppresive influence of his father and to buy himself some time as he considered whether to marry his fiance, Louise, he goes to Australia for a month long vacation.
Whilst in Alice Springs, Tom embarks on an ultra-light flight, a scenic trip into the heart of the
Australian outback, intending to stay overnight there in the bush. As he and his female pilot Nina prepare to to return home-they are involvedin a freak accident, a crash that very nearly claims their lives.
Nina is seriously injured and they are now miles from anvwhere. Both are siezed with panic and knowing that the rescue authorities have no idea where to mount a search for them - Tom
takes it upon himself to transport his injured companion to where a rescue might be expected.Not wanting to die in the desert, and having little water and precious little food, Tom formulates a plan in abrave, foolhardly and desperate attempt to get help.

Cedric cast his eyes over the wreckage. A genuine Aboriginal bushman, it was said he could track a fly across a sheet of glass. Gordon and Ross leant up against the fuselage of their aircraft, while they patiently watched and waited.
He made several excursions a short way from the sight, his head bowed as his keen eyes examined every minute clue and then came back to the wreck before going out again. More than once he would walk some way from the crash before giving a shake of his head and coming back. "Dingoes have been sniffing around, upset things a bit," he said calmly.
