If you had powers that could only be used a finite amount of times, what would you use them for?
What if you discovered you had superpowers but they could only be used a set number of times before killing you? Would you use them to be a hero? Maybe use them to be a villain? Or would you avoid using them and just try and live your life? Those are just some some of the questions that Colin has to face as he works to save his friends, unlock the mystery of his powers and put an end to a secret government project and the monsters it has created.
From my perspective, whether government-sponsored or not, we will all get superpowers in time. We already have some superpowers. We can jump out of an airplane and land safely with the parachute and spend hours in the alien environment of outer space in a spacesuit.
But I find the comic book powers given to individuals starting with perhaps, Superman, to be much less "science" fiction and much more, fantasy. I think authors should stop filling up the science fiction genre with fantasy.
