Their flight attendant, Susan Spiny Lizard, moved row by row in the plane asking what everyone would like to have for a snack. She was in for a surprise when she asked the Chameleon family, “Would you like crickets, dandelions, or crackers?”
“I’ll have crickets, please,” said Charlie.
“I’ll have dandelions, please,” said Mama
“I’ll have dandelions, too, please,” said Papa.
“I’ll have crackers!” said Frankie, popping up from his tank.
Susan jumped back and almost dropped her snack tray.
“My goodness, I didn’t see you there!” she gasped. “I have goldfish crackers.”
“No way! I don’t eat other fish. That’s disgusting. Yuck!” said Frankie. “I’ll have meatballs, please.”
“Meatballs are not on the menu. Would you like crickets or dandelions?” asked Susan.
“Spaghetti. I’ll have spaghetti!”
Susan tapped her foot while she waited for Frankie to pick something from the menu.
“Frankie! You need a nap. I’ll save some of my crickets for you to eat later,” Charlie whispered.
“Fine.” Grumpy Frankie sank to the bottom of his tank.
The two hours in the air went by fast.
After the plane landed, Susan stood near the exit sign and spoke to the passengers as they left the plane. “Have a wonderful vacation and thank you for using Flying Lizard Airways.”
