1940. War has come to England.
Reggie, Freddie, Henry, Dougie, Willy and (“please don’t call me Jackie”) Jack, are six young teens who desperately want to join the British Boy Scouts to do their bit for the home front.
After they’re rejected from the local Ronan Academy Boy Scout troop for being orphans, the six press on and form their own troop, the Scouts of St. Michael, named after the patron saint of their boy’s home. This doesn’t go over well with the Ronan Boy Scouts.
One night during an air raid, the six mount an unmanned anti-aircraft gun and shoot down an attacking dive bomber. Like lightning, news of their bravey and resourefullness reaches the ears of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and even King George VI—as well as leaders of the newly formed Special Operations Executive—responsible for all action behind enemy lines.
A situation has arisen that demands immediate action, deep inside the lion's den, Nazi Germany itself.
The six brave boys may be the linchpin of the entire operation … if they’re willing to answer the king’s call. If they succeed, they’ll grow up heroes. If they fail, they won’t grow up.

At first I thought this might be a true story. But when I saw the video I knew was that it was not. I like historical fiction, and especially, stories like this that would appeal to young people.
