I love history. And, I don't like whitewashed history. However, from what I read of your description of this book, I'm afraid that anecdotal history can be misleading as well. I see no evidence of any scientifically gathered information for what you have presented. Stories and legends often are inflated and may have a kernel of truth but as a whole, are not.
An excerpt may have helped clarify some of my concerns. As for your heritage, DNA is the best way to determine that.
