In Dreams
In dreams I walk the ancient pathways
where once my fathers trod
gaze at stars from mountaintops
and feel the breath of God
in dreams I wander the hills
and drink from cold, clear streams
I am one with the mountains again
at lest, in dreams, it seems
in dreams I dance the eagle dance
in thick forest stalk the deer
I sit beside the hearth fire
and hold my loved ones near
life can change and men can take
from another, everything it seems
but they cannot steal his memories
or rob him of his dreams
