Congrats on another book. I'm not sure what time period(s) you are writing about. I have virtually no memory of what we did in 1940s, but the 1950s traditions are quite familiar to me. My mother grew up on a farm and told me that they would take the horse-drawn sleigh to her aunt's place during the holidays because Model Ts couldn't navigate the unplowed roads. There also was a tradition of placing candles on the Christmas tree before electricity came to rural areas in the 1930s and 40s. Someone had to stand by with a bucket of water just in case the tree caught fire.
