I have a copy of this picture book of La Belle Rouge collected pictures and stories of standard poodles from dog lovers and friends. Each poodle becomes a member of its family and is remembered fondly as having, "passed over the "rainbow bridge," or become part of the family's life in such a joy to have around.
Standard poodles come in various sizes and many colors. They can be groomed into high-fashion which they seem to enjoy and show off, or they can be groomed to be healthy and free to do what poodles do. Standard poodles are some of the smartest dogs in the dog kingdom and can be easily trained to be expert service dogs. Some have become heroes for their service. But most just become a friendly, loyal and integral part of family life. Always a joy to look at to admire their good looks and skills at various physical activities that sometimes, defy gravity.
