Berlin 1939 - 1943
From the smoking ruins of a bombed Berlin brothel, three shocked and injured female survivors are taken to a secluded training facility by Nazi officer, Gruppenführer Watler Schellenberg. They’re not there for official business but for medical treatment.
Trained by the SS officer in all aspects of espionage, the women are desperate to survive. They turn the tables on their armed captors and kill them. After covering their tracks, the women return to ply the only trade they know… with an added twist. Somehow these ‘sisters in arms’ escape the attention of the Nazis, despite the high rank of their victim, and their lucrative business thrives.
They haven’t escaped everyone’s notice though. British Intelligence were monitoring Schellenberg’s operations for some time, and their attention has zeroed in on the three women. They dispatch one of their top male agents to make contact…

Excerpt

We were ushered into a room of the larger building, into what looked like a surgical room. The panic hit me like a train, engulfing every essence of my body. A woman came into the room dressed in an SS uniform. She had a stern look about her, purposeful and determined.
“Right, strip!” she ordered.
Well that wasn’t new to me, we had to strip all the time at the school for medicals.
She walked around us both, looking us up and down, repeatedly saying, “Very nice, very suitable.”
She continued to carry out a medical examination on both of us and then we were told to dress. Then the questions started.
“Do you like men?" Strange question, I thought but I replied yes, as did the other woman.
“How many men have you had sexual encounters with?"
Looking at my companion, she instantly replied, “I am a prostitute, I have lost count.”
I could feel this look of bewilderment coming over my face, she then looked at me waiting for an answer.
“I am a virgin; I have just left a school for girls run by the regime,” I replied. "I was on my way to Nuremburg to start my training as a prison guard, here are my papers.”
She snatched them from me, glanced over them, then she simply tore them up.
“Yes ma’am, whatever the state requires," I stated.

Blue Ring Assassins

5.0 out of 5 stars Fact and fiction produces a good story

I enjoyed the fast action of this thriller. Certain aspects of the novel had been well researched and added authenticity to the whole thing. I liked the way that much of the story was told individually through the minds of each of the three main characters (three heroines actually!), it worked well.
The story line was very well structured, a lot of thought and planning had gone into it and was a big factor in making it such an enjoyable read.
Not much to dislike about it really, perhaps a touch of romance would have added to it.
