This is a delightful Children’s Book that follows Tim and his Grandfather Don on an adventure. Tim quickly learns that all life is important. Grandfather Don introduces Tim to all his friends in the fields and forest surrounding his house. The creatures tell Tim how important they are to the earth and without them life would be very different.
The reader has several questions at the end of the book and space for hand written answers. The questions give the reader a chance to express their feeling about the characters.

The front screen door slams, and Tim hurries out. Suddenly he calls out, “Wow, you should see this, Grandpa. Come quick.” Grandpa Don closes his book, winks at his wife, and goes outside. He sees Tim looking at a large spider walking on a beautiful spider web. Tim is about to step on the spider when Grandpa Don calls out, “Don‛t, Tim. Don‛t step on the spider.” “But why? It‛s just a spider.” Tim looks puzzled. “All life is important. Not just people. All life is important,” Grandpa Don answers. When he sees the look of wonder on Tim‛s face, he says, “Come with me. I will show you many different creatures that are a part of our living world.”
Gary Grasshopper and friends travel to another field to celebrate the birthday of Gary's best friend, Freddie Firefly. While there they encounter a group of cicadas who have been underground for thirteen years.
