I enjoyed reading the book
I enjoyed reading “He Restoreth My Soul, Triumph Through Adversity” by Cassandra Hill which I found to be extremely poignant and well written and a true account of her recovery from a very severe illness and its consequences. I thought this is a very inspirational book.
An excerpt, “One evening while studying, I started feeling really sick. My nose started bleeding, and shortly after, blood started coming out of my mouth. My friend panicked, and I told her to get some Vaseline. I started pinching my nostrils and applying the Vaseline. Eventually, the bleeding stopped. My friend looked at me and asked, “How could you remain calm?” My answer was: GOD.”
The author selects moving Scripture to describe her journey back to health. Although I am an agnostic and not devoted to a certain religion, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the thoughts and selections of this author’s and her battle through several miscarriages and seeing her strength and faith in God in dealing with her disease where other people would accept the situation.
I found this book to be inspirational, sincerely honest, enlightening and a book that I think, in my opinion, should be read by anyone who has unexpectedly faced trauma in their life. I think any reader doesn't need to be religious to follow the thoughts and Scripture selections this author selects as the book is positive and uplifting.
I liked the way the author reached out to help anyone reading the book by asking the reader to search their own souls and answer questions that encourages taking action and having faith.
An excellent and enlightening book. Highly recommended!
