I Am Meir’s Brother not only chronicles the story of brilliant scientist Eli Huberman and his multi-talented and ever-resourceful wife Lily, and that of legendary Mossad Director-General (2002-2010) Meir Dagan as seen through the eyes of his brother Eli; it is also an amazing story of survival and renewal of ones who barely escaped prosecution and the Holocaust, arriving in the nascent State of Israel and becoming part of its formation. The book is also about love of family, pride of country, truth to science, and some of the ways in which these align, and at times collide. Immensely readable and flowing, I am Meir’s Brother is a family history, intermittently moving and funny, disarmingly honest throughout. Start to finish, I found the book hard to put down.
