Young sasquatch are dying from an illnes that the health-providing leader,

the Taljeet, cannot prevent. Against the wishes of his leader, Yurek runs away

to seek human help.  The teenage boy Ben, and his cousin Ally are recruited

by a mysterious old man to find Yurek before he is captured by humans with less-than-pure intent.

     Yurek is found, but as he and Ben are dsparated from Ben's friends, a

sisnister adversary is poised to capture Yurek and end any hope of saving

the sasquatch race. The tale races to a final confrontation as Yurek the

sasquatch and Ben the human must face a terrible truth.
