She really surprised me with that. She had such an enchanting voice, with just the slightest Spanish accent. I didn’t even realize it had been released as a song by Ambrosia in 1975. She had been singing that version to me!
I knew she wasn’t just saying she read it because that poem was in it. It was a quote from Bokonon, a fictional character philosopher who also said “If you find your life tangled up with somebody else’s life for no very logical reasons,” writes Bokonon, “that person may be a member of your karass.”
I thought of Manena as now being part of my karass. After all, through an unpredictable set of circumstances, here we now were sitting at the table across from each other.
“How did you get in this movie?”
