As head of the display department at Dixon's Dept store, Margo Conroy, comes in contact with all the employees. Recent policy changes put in effect by David Martin, Dixon's New General Manager, have the employees disgruntled. The employees want a union, and Margo becomes the union organizer. This of course brings Margo to the forefront in the labor dispute and in direct conflict with David. When David begins a quest to win Margo's heart, she can't be sure if he is sincere or trying to win her over to his side of the labor issues. David is everything Margo ever wanted, handsome, intelligent, successful, but can she trust her heart over the loud warnings of her mind?

David turned his attention back to the traffic and Margo studied his handsome profile. Was there any truth in the lovely things he said to her, or was he just playing the role of the ardent suitor? They had been together such a short time yet he was already becoming quite important to her. She must be very careful not to let him rule her heart so completely that other things in her life took a back seat to his needs. For as much as she hated to think about it, that could be the only reason he was romancing her so gallantly.
