preparing you and your family for natural disasters, covid like situations and other threats to your family.

Are you prepared for a killer storm, major power outage, a viral pandemic, political instability, or an act of terrorism that would impact you or your family for more than several days? I wrote this book to provide sound, practical information for people that want to be prepared for whatever life throws their way. With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I thought this book might have a broader scope and purpose for extended in-home Isolation that wasn’t initially considered.

The answer is usually a resounding “NO” when asked if you are prepared! Maybe you and your family could ‘rough it’ for several days. Still, unless you have a plan and are ready for an emergency, you are likely unable to deal with issues such as storms or pandemics lasting weeks to a much longer and larger life events. Regardless of the reason or severity of the event, a little pre-planning can go a long way to ensuring your care and well-being.

Learn how long food will last...how much water you need for a week...what to do if you breakdown in a winter storm.

Excerpt
Is planning for a potential emergency just being paranoid or being prepared? Some people are natural planners; they need to be organized and ready for whatever life throws their way. There is nothing paranoid about being prepared.

Other people insist that dangerous situations or emergencies will never happen to them. Is this crazy or insane? To a prepper, it sounds insane. Think of the major hurricanes, floods, and other deadly storms in your lifetime. Would the people in those storms want to be prepared?

Life isn’t all blue sky and sunny days, but it is also not doomsday. There has to be a middle ground of preparedness without paranoia. Years ago, our relatives were more self-sufficient and less dependent on companies and stores to fulfill everyday needs. People had gardens, root cellars, and supplies to avoid long store trips. They were prepared for more than just a day or two.

The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining. President John F. Kennedy

Today, we live day to day or week to week with our supplies, mainly due to the ease with which we can quickly meet our needs. We quite simply are an instant impact society that’s getting all of our supplies sent to us via Next Day Delivery! Is this a crazy way to live?

Being paranoid is not a natural mindset or way of life and is often underscored with unreasonable fear. Fear, when moderated, is healthy as it keeps us from danger and prepares us for a crisis. Response from fear is either a fight, flight or freeze response. When we face a severe storm, a pandemic, or another emergency, freezing is not acceptable, flight may be necessary (with sufficient supplies), and better yet, being ready and prepared to fight is best.

Unless you lived as a hermit or under a rock in 2020, you have no doubt realized how much easier your life might have been with preparation and planning. In America, we saw what was beginning around the globe, but few people reacted fast enough to avoid food and product shortages. Under a government-mandated shut downs due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus, and stay at home isolation orders, goods both online and in stores quickly disappeared.

In addition to the storms brought about by nature, the media creates another level of fear and danger that intensifies the potential for additional fear and paranoia. The media creates a sense of impending doom and that we are victims. We do not need to be paranoid and fear-filled. Nor do we need to be victims.
