In 1992, I received a special gift: a small red journal book for capturing holiday memories. For over thirty years, I have captured the special moments of my and my family's holiday experiences. But through these years, I wanted to capture more of what my small blank book would allow. I searched online for the perfect holiday journal book. While several other holiday blank books are available, none of these titles seem fitting for truly capturing the essence of the holidays. Some have overly specific prompts that do not apply to most families. Some are over-designed with too many ornate drawings. Most are blank books with a Christmas cover and design.
So, I created Holiday Memories. Holiday Memories provides journal prompts and ideas to help preserve your family's Christmas memories. Over the years, Holiday Memories become a treasure chest of your unique family traditions, a way to preserve your memories and create a keepsake for future generations.
I have included many fun holiday facts and traditions from around the world in Holiday Memories, something you will not find in other holiday journal books. One of my favorites is the cut-outs included throughout the book that highlight unique holiday traditions worldwide. The holidays bring us all closer together. By sharing these worldwide traditions, we can learn and celebrate one another, embrace our diversity of traditions, cultures, and views, and help the world become a more peaceful and loving planet. Mexico: La Noche de Rábanos. On December 23, hundreds of professional food artisans and residents of Oaxaca, Mexico, compete in the Noche de Rábanos, or Night of the Radishes, in which participants carve Nativity scenes, Mexican folklore, and holiday images into the skin of large radishes. Local merchants started the ancient festival to draw shoppers to the town plaza. The three-day festival is considered the most impressive display of carved vegetables worldwide.
