I write as a man, husband, and father on issues as deep and diverse as child abuse, drug abuse, age, feelings and emotions, Christianity and the church, and the disability of severe "Multiple Chemical Sensitivities" from which I has suffered since 1996. Whilst my strong Christian faith underlies many of my poems, they are not easily categorised and cover a wide range of styles and topics. Drawn from my own life experiences as well as those of many I has known over the years, they are more about life itself and the issues of life that so many struggle with - often alone.

RECEIVING a lot of attention lately is D.J. Ludlow's Life Lines.
The local poet has written some inspiring poetry in his debut collection.
After picking up the book I began by flicking through the pages and glancing at some of the verses but as I read I found it was difficult to put down.
The poetry reminded me of Les Murray's style of writing, where the reader may have to dig through obscurity to find the deeper meaning, which can be a stimulating challenge.
Based on Christian principles, the poetry endeavours to reach a part of us that can sometimes be overlooked in our often busy and full lifestyles.
An exciting aspect of Don Ludlow's book is the achievement of the book itself. Some of us dream dreams, some of us live them. He may not only inspire you with his enlivened language but also with the knowledge that dreams are achievable.
As he writes in his poem The Dream Maker.-
You are a fool said the stranger with a twinkle in his eye,
To stay trapped in there when you can soar in the sky.
Hemmed in as you are by wood and wire,
Just doing as you are told. Are your dreams not higher?
