A soldier picked up a miniature grandfather clock. He looked around to be sure nobody was watching him as he began to carry it from the office to an area where he could safely retrieve it later. He stepped on an empty envelope that had hurriedly been ripped open and left on the floor. The envelope had the word JACK scrawled on it in some forgotten secretary's handwriting. The soldier's foot slipped on the paper and the unwound springs and mechanism activated as the clock was jarred. It chimed six times, seemingly in memory of the six, finished, test aircraft that never saw service in Canadian skies.
