This is my second book of poetry “The Girl From Santa Monica” Sometimes it is hard to understand how thoughts and feelings can hold a person hostage for years ..especially in my first book. Many people believe the life of a child of an actor is an exceptional one. That we suffer no hardships or sadness because our parents achieve what so many dream of. But fame is fleeting. .my fathers life is a testament to that. Sometimes I hide from it, sometimes I am sad , sometimes I just want to fit in.. pretend I’m just from a small town somewhere...but I know who I am. .the girl from Santa Monica.. Bobs daughter, inheriting the beauty of the written word.. the heart.. the soul.. of who I am inside.. so the beat goes on.. to the next generation...
This book is dedicated to my parents Robert and Marilyn Driscoll and all their friends of the “beat generation” , They are the inspiration ; the reason I write poetry .
