Life growing up in a trailer park in the 50’s and 60’s was very interesting to say the least. This book contains several stories from this Baby Boomer’s experiences living in the Trailerhood.
This book contains stories recounting both the good and not so good memories of a youth growing up in the 50's and 60's in a trailer park located in central Connecticut. The book started out being a collection of stories from the author's memory while growing up in the Trailerhood during a time with the Cold War engulfing America, racial inequality running rampant, the assassination of key leaders of the day, an unpopular war being waged in Asia, as well as violent student unrest. The following story is the first chapter of my new novel titled The Professor.
Professor Paul Dumont has formulated a controversial yet plausible theory that shatters the conventional and long accepted account regarding who discovered the New World. He has been granted a stipend by Stanford University to put together an expedition to explore the Baja peninsula coast just south of El Rosario Mexico to search for proof to verify his avant-garde thesis.
What starts off as an innocent summer field trip to the Mexican desert with a team of University students headed by Professor Dumont soon turns into a nightmare of subtle warnings, dealings with corrupt officials, encounters with bandits as well as a surprising high sea adventure. Learn how the rookie team of archeologists survive the harsh elements that make the desert a challenge to survive in, let alone work in.
Driven by his desire to make an impact in the intellectual community with his revolutionary thesis, Paul Dumont takes risks not commonly associated with the accepted demeanor of a college professor. His quest for the truth overtakes him and sometimes clouds his good judgment.
Several players on the international stage take notice of the brash American professor’s exploration and become actively involved trying to influence the teams’ outcome. Betrayal, international intrigue, confrontation as well as murder rock the professors’ world setting the stage for a climatic confrontation in Baja Mexico that will stun the reader.
