Ex-Nazi Walter Dornberger, who should have been tried and hanged for war crimes at Nuremberg, is evacuated to the US by the CIA after WWII. He is placed at Bell Helicopter in Dallas where he works closely with Micahel Paine, husband of Ruth Paine. The Paines and Dornberger work as covert operatives for the CIA, and one of their assignments is to set up Lee Harvey Oswald as the patsy in the JFK assassination. Dornberger turns up murdered in 1980, and the cop who investigates it turns up a rat's nest of CIA atrocities, including MK-ULTRA, OPeration Paperclip, Operation Mockingbird and ZR-RIFLE. Hayes and his prime suspect form an unlikely collaboartion and turn the tables on the CIA and its nefarious operatives.

Writers On The Wrong Side Of The Road is an anthology which features short stories across several genres. My contribution is "The Barefoot Hero," a work of literary fiction.
"The Barefoot Hero" is the bittersweet story of a man who discovers the meaning of a friend's life when he attend's the friend's funeral. It is restrospective on the brutality and ravages of the Vietnam War and what its survivors endured. The story has received several rave reviews. Literary critic Lisa Lane wrote, " 'The Barefoot Hero' brought tears to my eyes. The story is bittersweet, tragic and brilliantly written.
