This collection is an amalgamation of the first decade of my creative journey. It is comprised of what I consider to be the most thought provoking and vocabularly creative poetry that I've written.
Exegesis allowed me to embark on a true journey of circumspection and introspection, because I was able to read and study each poem that I have created, and this challenged me with having to select what I considered to be my best and most telling works to date.
Creating this collection was a definite test and quest, one in which I can honestly say, I was made to see myself artistically. I am very thankful for that because I feel that this helped me to grow. Love Letters is a collection of poems that expresses my thoughts and views about love. It was a great experience to create this collection, because it allowed me to focus on this condition, or powerful affliction that affects us all, love.
I created Love Letters while on a journey through western Europe. I was inspired by the beauty and romantic air of such cities like Paris, Milan, Zurich and Vienna, and these places allowed me to become blanketed by the strong magnetic affects of love, and I will forever remember my time and experiences while traveling from place to place.

| |  | | The Genesis A Collection of Poems by Mekael
The Genesis is my first collection of poetry. My vision for the creation of it, was that I'd pick pieces of Poetry that I had written and journaled from the very beginning of my creative journey, and gather them in a storybook styled collection.
The Genesis showcases my thoughts, perspective and opinions of the world when I was in my mid-twenties. This book contains many pieces of poetry that are concerned with self-reflection, and the socio-economic strata of the world from which I come.
There is a strong air of redemptive poetry contained within the body of this work, for, writing Poetry allowed me the opportunity to participate in the "confessional" style of expression. I believe that it's a wonderful read, and I hope that those who read it, will thinks so as well.

The Road to Damascus is my second collection of poems, and though his collection allowed me to travel the same redemptive and contemplative path as my first collection, it contains what was then, new works.
During the creation of this collection, I was traveling an inward path, one that granted me the opportunity to delve into the, deeper me, and not to sound too "over the top", I was given the gift of being able to come to know me better, and I am grateful for that.
While The Road to Damascus portrays the same thematic poetry as my first collection, I believe that my artistic maturation is expressed strongly in this collection, and this truth is showcased in many of the pieces. I believe that the readers of this book will enjoy the varied poetic perspectives on love, happiness, loss, spirituality and the human condition.
