This story is about Patrick, the farmers son who raises his pet chicken in his room. Miss Chickie has an adventure coping with Patricks messy room.
When Miss Chickie hatches and is lost from her mama, Farmer Duane gives her to his son to raise and use for a science project. The problem is, he is keeping her in his messy room. She is a white crested black polish breed and cannot see for the feathers that cover her eyes. As she becomes of age to begin nesting and laying her eggs, she is confused and begins her search for a propper nest. Patricks shoes are her choice.
