A collection of over 100 poems covering topics, such as, God and Country, family, and romance.
My mother served her country as a nurse in the United States Air Force. She and I shared the joy of writing poetry and had just started to talk about creating a book of her poems, shortly before she passed. She started writing books as a teenager and loved to write about family and things she found important in life. Included were short jingles about people she knew, using their names, to put a smile on their face. Some of these are included here. "Welcome to Hell" tells the story of how one American citizen fought for almost one year with the Iranian government just a few short years after the 1979 Iranian Revolution that led to the expulsion of Americans from Iran. Determined to be reunited with her young daughter, she battled an abusive regime and an abusive ex-husband, but she never gave up. |
